Homemade Sports Drinks

Drink #1
1/2 Quart of Water
1/2 Quart of Juice (your favorite)
2tsp Sugar
1/4tsp Citric Acid (food additive sold in most drug stores)
1/4tsp Sodium Chloride (eg. table salt)
1/4tsp Potassium Chloride (salt substitute eg. NU-SALTr)

Drink #2
3 level tablespoons of table sugar
1/8 teaspoon of salt (about 2 healthy pinches)
add your flavoring

Flavoring ideas
  • 1/3 packet of unsweetened Kool-Aid
  • a couple of healthy squeezes of lemon juice
  • one tablespoon of cocoa powder with a dash of vanilla extract

Drink #3
1 cup Sugar
3 packs of Kool Aid,
mix and divide into 1/6 cup portions,
add 1/4 teaspoon of Sea Salt to Each sugar/cool aid portion,
mix in a Quart of Water


NOTES:
1 bottle = 3 cups
#2: 1 bottle: 1 tbsp. sugar, 1/2 packet cool-aid; 1/8 tsp. salt

#1: 1 bottle: 1 tbsp. sugar, 1/8 tsp. salt, slightly less than 1/2 (1 and 1/4 c. juice)
